News: Sky Online Germany To Launch Weekly and Monthly Sports Passes

Until now, Sky Sports Germany via their internet-delivered portal was only available on a daily basis, meaning it could cost a staggering €465 per month. But come summer, Sky Online Germany will finally add a weekly and monthly subscription that should allow significant savings.

Sky Online’s reluctance to offer weekly or monthly passes for their IPTV service has been somewhat disappointing for German sports fans, especially since Sky UK customers have had this feature for a while now. The longer duration packages have proved popular to British customers, who can access the major Sky sports channels live on a variety of devices for around £33.99 per month or £10.99 per week.

While we don’t yet have a specific date for the new packages to launch in Germany, Sky Online have told us that they will be available in time for the new Bundesliga opening season in late August.

Pricing is also being kept under the belt, but considering Sky Online Germany is considerably more expensive than Sky’s equivalent UK service Now TV, we shouldn’t just use the exchange rate to predict pricing.

Also seems the new sports passes will be available to purchase independently, without the need of a entertainment or cinema pass.
